Hello there! It’s General Elizabeth. I work as theatre crew, with the dream of moving into the film/ HETV world.

That’s my Muggle day job now. But many moons ago, I lived many lives – law school, broadcast journo, online content editor, theatre photographer – and, for some reason, the story of being a wearer of many hats is one that people find remarkably more interesting than any story I have from my career. So I made this site, a tiny National Archives of my life.

Everyone in these brutal screen/stage industries has that silly little teenage hobby that made us fall obsessively in love with the craft. My thing was production photography: the flawless work of Matt Murphy, Evan Zimmerman, Marc Brenner, Avery Brunkus, Heather Gershonowitz, Manuel Harlan, Johan Persson, Pamela Raith, Danny Kaan, Liza Heinrichs, Michaelah Reynolds, and Valerie Terranova. I can dead-on list you who shot for what shows on any given West End or Broadway year. These lit up my imagination in a myriad of technicolor, and I wanted to look at light through their eyes. I took my camera into auditoriums and rehearsal rooms until I wormed my way into teaching myself the skills I needed to build a showbiz career. Funnily enough, I work in the sound and edit departments (sorry sparkys!), but I hope that this body of work does justice as the testaments to my first and earliest love.
